How the Session works

Let me see if I can provide you with some information that you may find helpful to know:
  • A standard session goes for 50 Minutes, with longer sessions available upon request.
  • In our first session I will be interested to get to know you a little and what brings you in for counselling.
  • This will help us gaining an understanding of the difficulties you are currently facing in your life and what your goals are and what you are hoping to gain from counselling.
  • Supporting you to identify the source of the difficulty and make the changes needed to improve your personal life, relationship or mental health challenges
  • Helping you work towards better psychological well-being and letting go of unhealthy patterns.

Additional experience includes 7 years working for Relationships Australia working with clients, developing and delivering a “Relationship Skill Building” workshop and supporting individuals involved with the Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.

Over the years, a holistic, integrated eclectic approach has been developed and is used to promote greater understanding of issues to support you towards your healing & increase self-awareness through a range of therapy styles. Why do I use a range of therapy styles? My experience is that no one way works for everyone, so having other options is helpful. These include psychotherapy, emotion focused therapy, mindfulness, education and talking therapies to assist you in exploring and expressing yourself utilising creative approaches. Alongside a wide range of training and ongoing professional development is life experience from my own personal healing journey.
